Komo’s English class@Kesennuma, Toryo High School

We hold monthly classroom session at Toryo High School in Kesennuma since 2015. For high school students, our class has 2-hours-of group session; facilitator of the month introduces his/her career and how s/he use English in real business life. We use commencement speech used at graduation ceremony of major universities. After reading aloud with an entire group, the students form subgroups and learn the meaning and pronunciation with us. Finally we finish the session with reading aloud with entire group. After that, we stay another 30-60 minutes so that students can ask any questions, such as career, English or their hobby.

Toryo high School participated in SCOA (designed for high school students to learn leadership). Let’s Talk Foundation supported financial aid and our partnership enhanced to help them hold our session on a monthly basis. The schedule is basically the Saturday afternoon of the week when Komo’s English class@Rikuzentkata is held.

Facilitator of this session is always welcome. Those who use English in business, who likes English and people will make great coach for this session. Everyone will have to pay all the associated cost (transportation, accommodation, and meals).
